Plant in the industrial sector is provided at grade and sometimes over the roof. The plant fixed at the ground would normally require a sturdy slab on grade which can support the weight of the plant. Special attention is to be given to the drainage.

When the platform is provided over the roof, access would need to be considered as well as replacing the plant on the roof may need to be considered as well. Special care is to be taken for protecting the steel members against corrosion and galvanized members may be preferred.
